Goshinjutsu

I would like to draw everyone’s attention to the growing blog of local resident Buyu Paul Masse.

I have always felt that Paul has achieved a level of internalization of Soke’s Budo and teachings that is inspiring. Paul has been here training as long as I can remember, and he is not as well known as he should be. That will change.

I cannot recommend enough the value of keeping an eye on Paul’s blog.

Paul is truly an artist and all the work on his sight is done by him. He has achieved a level in calligraphy and photography that is driven by the eyes mind of the budoka.

I have to agree with Doug. Paul’s translation skills is right on. I was last in Japan this past March. In Soke’s class no translators were present – up and come Paul with camera in hand. Paul step in and did an awesome job – probably one of the best classes of that trip.

I rarely comment on the many things that I have seen in the Bujinkan in my last 19 years of training, but this has caused me to pause and do so now. Paul is certainly an un-sung contribution to the Bujinkan. I am happy to see that we still celebrate the honorable and humble of our family

Paul is truely a budo-ka. He makes no noncens and has the ability to transmit between the lines a very important wisdom which we protect in Bujinkan. I always felt some thing shinken, positive and well balanced in you Paul although I never taked with you nor practiced together with you. I hope that will change!

The Paul’s blog is amazing! But I have problem to open some article, specifically “Seigan” (August 5), “kanshin kaname” (August 6), and also can’t add a comment into it. Do you have the same problem? If yes, could somebody tell it to Paul, because I don’t have his e-mail address? Thank you, and thanks to Paul!

Thank you for introducing Paul’s blog! His phtography is luminous. He’s got an amazing ability to be present and “see” with his taijutsu, camera, and words.

My name is Doug Wilson, originally from the US (CA). I have been studying martial arts for almost 30 years, 20+ of those years in the Bujinkan. I have spent 13 of those years in Japan training at the Hombu Dojo. I act as a main interpreter for the Hombu Dojo and have co-translated the above books by Hatsumi Soke, released by Kodansha International. I feel that the time is right to provide my acquired information to the Bujinkan public about training in Japan. I guess I can say from my unique position and close proximity to Soke, I can provide a perspective that most can not. Here, I will post what I have recently learned, translated, experienced, and interpreted as well as been told to say. Some may find the content to be too direct or controversial. It is not meant to be, it is the truth provided in a “zero” way to those people who are interested in hearing it. It is not a place designed to draw fire from those who live online, expending energy arguing about things that mean nothing. I am a student of Hatsumi Soke and this is MY perspective. I hope to provide an insight to the dedicated practitioners of Hatsumi Soke’s Budo and the Bujinkan.
