The only constant is change

Well,  I have taken my own advice and changed.

I thought that the time had come for a new look for the Henka blog.

So here you go…

This awesome photo was taken by Buyu Paul Masse who has been living and training in Japan for more than a decade. Soke often says that only a true Budoka can take Budo photos.  So true…

Paul, is one of the most capable Budoka in the Bujinkan and I don’t think enough people know about him.  He is the guy that is always training with Yabunaka san. He has taken what Soke has taught and applied it in real life. Trust me.

Paul knows the concept of Kocho dori and he is like a feather in the wind.

I know who paul is… some say, one of senseis best translators.. too bad he lives soo far away that when youre in japan you only get to see him in ayase but not really anywhere else… on a funny side note.. a friend of mine came over the other day and had the #7 video of senseis current series.. at that time .. 2003, paul , mike peirce and myself all had long hair.. now theirs are both short…(i had cut mine to donate it and let it grow back out again..)

btw it was fun to have dinner with you guys after i passed the sakki test and nice to see the sneak peak of the definitive book of technique..

I see great love and respect in both of your eyes in this photo, Doug. It is truly a budo photograph!!!

As for Paul Masse, yes, I agree: Paul is one of the most talented foreign practitioners of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu in the world. I wish more people knew his name and his skill.
